6 questions :)

Hello routeros,

1) In 8.11 I cannot use proxy with cache; in log I got error
message: failed to make swap directory /var/cache/03/79 input
output error

2) Anyone tried N-Streme? so far, very bad...same settings, same
hardware configuration, same antennas, with standard drivers, i got
around 30 mbit, but with nstreme only about 7 mbit...
and after you install them, winbox go crazy, and cannot change
anything considering wireless settings with it...and even when you
return old package, you still cannot change anything in winbox
considering wireless...

3) with some wireless cards based on atheros 5212 (new planet wl-8310,
micronet etc) some channels are missing and some are
added...everything over 2499 is missing and there are lets say 2499,
2498, 2497 etc channels...

4) usb cards based on prism chips are not working :(

5) it would be great if you could add some webcam support, throug usb
interface or by connexant chip...

6) anyting new about support for ralink or realtek wireless chips?

This is intended - the beta version (and N-Streme still IS beta!) does
only have the console interface. I think it's the right approach to
concentrate on functionality, and when there things are OK put the GUI
on top of it.

I suppose this is because WinBox does not recognize the wireless
package has changed again. I would try deleting the wireless.dll and
wireless.crc files in "c:\documents and
settings\<username>\application data\mikrotik\winbox\2.8.11" (or
something like that...). This should force winbox to reload the
wireless part for WinBox from the router.

Are you sure the cards really support those channels?

As stated in the docs, USB wireless interfaces are not supported at
all...

Ehem, sorry - but this is a ROUTER. If you want a webcam, just buy a
webcam - or do you expect your car to make coffee for you? ;-)

I don't think this is planned, but you really should ask MikroTik
directly about this...
