More then likely the problem with the poor speed throughput that your seeing
with the 3054CB3s to MT is a 3054CB3 issue they have some serious firmware
issues and hardware issues on the units that are in the market. Some of
these issues have been fixed with the 2.2 firmware but there are still some
that needs to be fixed.

Senao is holding the next shipment of 3054CB3s due to QC issues. They are
painfully aware of the problems the current 3054's are having and working
hard to resolve it. I would not measure MT's performance in 11g mode by the
result you get from a 3054CB3. If it wasn't because the 3054CB3s works
nicely in WDS mode in 11b mode and seems to work fairly ok between each
other in G mode then they all would be toast and we would RMA every single
unit back to EnGenius from whom we got the first batch of these radios.

Thanks for letting me know this. I done some checking and this is what I
found out so far.
There are 4 different wireless transfer modes in the 3054CB3 and 2 of

them

are proprietary to Intersil products only.
1. Maximum G mode (Proprietary)
2. G only Mode (Proprietary)
3. b/g Mix Mode (Industry Standard)
4. b only Mode (Industry

Proprietary modes will only work with Intersil Frisbee base product or
later.

I am sorry, how come G only mode is proprietary to intersil? isnt
802.11g should be compatible in between different company's products?
and again I got the news from George Miller that the Senao 3054CB3 is
able to connect to StarOS AP in G and Max G modes...
Also all other gear from different manufacturers are working fine with
Mikrotik AP in 802.11G mode but Mikrotik AP only works good with
Mikrotik Station in 802.11G

So not sure which mode you have the CB3 in but if it's not in mixed mode

it

will not work with the MT since it's now following the 802.11g (draft

Well, the mixed mode surely connects to Mikrotik AP but when I use it
802.11B mode I get a decent 3mbit/s performance about, when I set
Mikrotik AP to 802.11G mode I get 100kbit/s without changing anything
else. So there is certainly a problem here.
Do you say that you are able to get 3054CB3 work in 802.11b/g mixed mode
connected to Mikrotik AP in 802.11G mode with a decent performance?

I do have 2.2.0 in the Senao bridge and still have the same issues.
It will associate only when the Senao is set to mixed mode and the
connection is stable only when the MikroTik box is set to b mode.
Even when the MikroTik box is set to g band, it shows up as being in b

the Senao.
Like Evren, I think this is messing up the equipment trying to connect

to

the MikroTik box. I tried a Netgear bridge as a test and the exact same
thing happens. I believe both bridges use Intersil chipsets.
The further interesting thing is I have the same results no matter what
Atheros radio is in the MikroTik box. The first one we tried was a

Senao

mini-pci and the second was the new Atheros chipset variety. Same

result.

It seems that something isn't quite right in how MikroTik is handling
802.11g....

Which firmware version do you have on the CB3? The latest stable

version?

I am getting really bad performance if I set mikrotik router to 802.11g
mode and the client is using senao 3054cb3 deluxe...
Does anybody know whats the problem with this setup? It works fine when
the mikrotik is running in 802.11b mode...
