Hi guys.
Is it possible to perform firmware upgrade on atheros AR5012 cards (a/b/g) ?
Or is everything done in the software and not hardware like with the 11b hardware ?
I have a major problem which I just cannot get fixed.
My AP's which run on RouterBoards and RouterOS 2.8.8 disconnect a few times a day with no pattern what so ever. Sometimes just for a few seconds, sometimes for even over an hour.
The APs are connected to one another in WDS mode, in client mode , with mini-PCI and/or PCMCIA.
The problem occurs with all the combinations of software setup and hardware (which I carefully tried).
Access points connected to eachother lose contact independiently meaning only one of them reports the other link is down while the other one thinks it is still connected.
It also happened the APs thought they were connected but in the metter of fact they stoped transfering data until I ran AP scan on one of the APs (which is also connected to our backbone). Then they started working again.
The radio conditions are perfect, about 65-70 dBm. The distance between APs varies from a few hundred meters to 7 kms. I suspect the problem to be driver related but I am not sure. The support of MT stoped answering and I am stucked with angry customers and unstable links.
The cards we use are http://www.wneweb.com/wireless/products/cm9.htm which I believe are exactly the same ones MikroTik sells.
Regards.
