I can not speak for StarOS since I have not tried it in G mode. Nor can I
speak for any other product. These comments that I provided in my earlier
e-mail where comments directly from Senao engineers. It's their claim and
from what I seen I'm willing to agree on most of it. I seen questionable
results running even a 3054 to another 3054 in G mode (throughput). But
right now can't recall if this was tested with v2.2 or if the test was with
a earlier version.

The G only mode as well the turbo mode in the 3054's is a proprietary
Intersil Frisbee mode and do not work with none Frisbee systems in this

case

MT. You have to use b/g mixed mode which is industry standard.

But intersil claims that the max performance mode (I think it was called
nitro?) is compatible with other 802.11g products.
I have sent this to the list before but here is a quote from an email
from George Miller

like a charm. The link between the two towers using the Atheros 5004x
chipset cards work great under StarOS, and the Senao bridge associates
right away with the StarOS access point in g mode. It also works in g

So as you can see, with StarOS both G mode and Max. Perf. G mode works
fine when using Atheros cards in StarOS. So you can't really say that
Intersil products are incompatible in those modes if they are able to
work with Atheros products. (Also intersil says it is compatible anyhow)
Thus, I think the incompatibility is in Mikrotik itself. George also
told that the NetGear etc. hardware which didnt work with Mikrotik just
started to work with StarOS perfectly.

Are you able to get CB3 connect to Mikrotik AP in 802.11g mode?
What is the maximum distance you are using CB3 with? Although CB3
refuses to connect even from 2meters distance in 802.11g mode. I could
get it to connect to Mikrotik AP in mixed b/g mode. Maybe thats the
problem?
