Discussion:
[MikroTik] MT client to Cisco VPN server

I'm trying to get MT to use pptp (or even l2tp if it works better) as a
client "dialing" into a Cisco 3000 series VPN server. Is there a way to
get a better debug of what is going on? On the MT side, I only see:
"initializing..."
"dialing..."
"terminating... - session closed"
"disconnected"
then it starts all over again.

This happens with both pptp and l2tp. I do not have access to the Cisco on
the other end, but I know it should work, since I can connect just fine
from a windows XP box.
This is a MT 2.7.2 box, public IP on the outside interface... I do not see
"GRE" or pptp in the list of services though, but was guessing that would
only be listed if I enabled server on the MT box.

Any suggestions?

What setting do you have in your default PPP profile?
I've had tons of problems the other way around, trying to connect a Cisco VPN client to a RouterOS PPP server.
My PPPoE server allows CHAP and MSCHAP2 only which works with D-Link and Cisco VPN clients (pluss misc crappy hw).

Mostly all the defaults in the PPP profile. local/remote IPs are 0.0.0.0
(allow anything), incoming/outgoing filter is blank, no WINS server. For
the 4 checkboxes below, I've tried all 16 combinations. (I wonder if I
missed a few).

It would be REAL nice to have a debug window, or a log that actually has
some details in it.
